The Milwaukee Bucks are one win away from being vindicated.
All throughout the postseason, with the exception of the first round against the Miami Heat, the Milwaukee Bucks have been doubted, questioned, and unfairly critiqued. Whether it was because they were winning ugly, not at the rate at which the general public expected them to, or because of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s lack of a traditional superstar ego.
Either way, whatever the case, the Bucks have managed to surpass all of those concerns and are now one win away from their first NBA Championship in franchise history since 1971.
After a huge Game 5 victory on the road, in which the team’s “flawed” big three combined for 88 points, 20 rebounds, and 24 assists, the Bucks impressively overcame a 16-point first-quarter deficit to take a 3-2 series lead.

Milwaukee will now have an opportunity to close the series and clinch the championship on their home floor in Game 6. And should that happen, let’s not forget how much this team has been questioned all along the way.
Surely, should this team win the championship they will be celebrated. It’s how it’s always been in the past. No matter how much a team is questioned or doubted, they will be crowned and the behavior surrounding them will be as if no one ever questioned them at all leading to their achievement.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been questioned every step of the way
But let’s not forget that many were even quick to overlook these Bucks during the regular season as a legit Eastern Conference championship threat. Perhaps that was partly due to their recent playoff failures, but during the regular season, this team was overlooked most of the year in favor of the more flashy Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
Nevertheless, even after they acquired Jrue Holiday during the offseason and retooled their bench, many still believed that this team would falter in the postseason. Even heading into a first-round playoff matchup against Heat, many still didn’t know if they had the wherewithall to overcome pervious mental demons.
The Bucks were questioned once again against the Nets in the second round (especially down 2-0 in the series) before they managed to rail off four wins in five games. Then again, after losing Game 1 to the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The NBA Finals didn’t start off any different as they were doubted once more after losing the first two games of this series on the road. Despite their talent, the Bucks have been doubted at every turn. And they’ve answered in every moment too.
One win. That’s what stands in the way of immortality for this Bucks team. And an achievement that can never be taken away by anyone.
