Miami Heat free-agent targets: Kyle Lowry

It’s no surprise to see Kyle Lowry first on this list. He’s likely going to be the first call that Pat Riley makes when free agency opens. He’s good friends with Jimmy and there’s no question that Jimmy wants him in Miami. The Heat decided not to empty their assets to acquire him at the NBA Trade Deadline last season and are hoping that decision pays off by being able to sign him in free agency this offseason.

Lowry is a true professional, a good leader, a strong offensive player, a bull on defense, and would be the answer that the team has been looking for at the point guard position for years. Lowry would raise this team’s ceiling, but the big question is by how much?

Ultimately, that’s what the Heat will have to weigh heading into the offseason. Lowry seems like a great fit but because of his age, there’s no guarantee that he would be the best fit for the Heat if they are trying to maximize Jimmy and Bam’s build.
