NBA Rumors: Bradley Beal inching closer to making a trade demand?
NBA Rumors: There’s is growing speculation that a trade demand could be coming soon.
The Washington Wizards, led by Bradley Beal, have been one of the most disappointing teams over the last few seasons. They’ve underachieved under both John Wall (when he was healthy, at the top of his game, and still in Washington) and Beal.
After missing on another big swing which resulted in the team acquiring Russell Westbrook last offseason, the Wizards could be in for another shuffling of the roster.
And while they don’t anticipate trading their face of the franchise, that could all change if Beal wants it to. According to a recent report, Beal could be on the verge of making such a decision – one that would absolutely kick off the offseason with a bang.

Beal demanding a trade would rock the offseason
Beal has remained consistent in his intention on not demanding a trade from Washington. However, this report is suggesting that perhaps that could be changing. Beal has two years remaining on his current contract with the Wizards but could opt-out after next season.
If Beal is going to demand a trade it likely is going to happen this offseason. It will give the Wizards an opportunity to not lose Beal for nothing and would allow him to also choose where he wants to land.
Essentially, he could work with the team (if he wants to) and essentially hit the free-agent market a year ahead. That’s how much power Beal would have should he demand a trade. He could give Washington a list of teams that he’s willing to be traded to and the Wizards could work to find a deal that works.
If not, Beal will have the opportunity to leave via free agency next summer and I’m sure that’s something the Wizards want to avoid at all costs.
But, ultimately, that all depends on Beal and what he wants. That’s something that he needs to decide sooner rather than later. Does he want to try another retooling with the Wizards or is he ready for a change of scenery? Perhaps we could get the answer to that question soon,
