Five of the most undervalued and overlooked prospects heading into the 2021 NBA Draft.

The 2021 NBA Draft week is officially upon us and hoops heads everywhere are like kids on Christmas morning. All of the prognosticating will be put to bed and the selections finally will be made come Thursday night. Before we get there though, I wanted to take a look at five draft prospects I really like in this year’s class.

During this time of year, you’re going to hear a lot of analysts, insiders, and pundits be overtly critical of these young men. It’s an inevitable part of the process and ultimately a crucial part of it that is necessary to an extent. However, in the six years I’ve been doing this for I’ve found that shining the light on prospects I may not be so high on or focusing heavily on breaking down why a prospect won’t make it is something I don’t really find any joy in doing. I’d rather focus on the prospects I believe in and shine whatever light I can on their abilities.

So that’s what I’m going to do here in this piece, I’m going to examine the skills of five of my favorite prospects in the 2021 NBA Draft. I would’ve included Ohio guard Jason Preston, Tennessee guard Jaden Springer, and Seton Hall forward Sandro Mamukelashvili on this list, but I already wrote a near 2500 word report on why Preston reminds me of NBA legend Rod Strickland here, examined why Springer’s pro potential is comparable to former NBA All-Star Brandon Roy here and did a breakdown of Mamukelashvili’s skills on my Twitter page a couple of months ago here.

For those reasons alone I left them off of this, in order to give some attention to other players that I haven’t yet talked about as extensively.

The five prospects on this list might not even be names you personally view as being undervalued or overlooked. These really are just some of the guys I’m a big fan of and I haven’t seen them being analyzed or viewed through the same lens that I view them in. So without further ado, let’s kick this thing off with a potential four-level scorer from the University of Florida.
