Potential NBA Draft steals: Sharife Cooper

Averaging 20.2 points per game and an astounding 8.1 assists per game while at Auburn, Sharife Cooper displayed an electric and exciting style of play showing off his versatility and playmaking skills. Cooper is also an elite passer who is quick as lightning as his ball handling skills also enables him to draw contact and get to the foul line with ease.

Some NBA scouts are concerned about how he will be able to hold up defensively due to him being a bit undersized and even though he can shoot it from deep he must improve his efficiency as he connected on only 22.8 percent of his 3-point attempts. If surrounded by shooters, Cooper could one day possibly lead the league in assists.

While at Auburn, Cooper assisted on over half of his team’s points whenever he was on the floor. He can pass it efficiently on the pick and roll as he also excels at finding teammates above the rim as his elite passing skills should easily translate tot the NBA as he often makes the right reads and executes plays to perfection.

Cooper’s game can be compared to that of Chris Paul’s as an undersized point guard who can score and dish it but can Cooper develop leadership ability? Will he be able to guide his team through adversity during tough stretches? Can he be a voice in the locker room and put the team on his back?
