Potential NBA Draft steals: Charles Bassey

A team looking to add a rim protector should look no further than Charles Bassey. He has outstanding mobility and athleticism with plenty of upside offensively. He is an absolute monster on the boards as he averaged 11.6 rebounds per game at Western Kentucky.

If paired with a point guard who can effectively run the pick-and-roll, Bassey should excel as a lob threat while rolling to the basket. He runs the floor well for a man his size and handles the ball well for a big man. Bassey has elite leaping ability and finishes at the rim with ease  and can throw it down in traffic and is like a freight train whenever he gets a head of steam going toward the basket. He cleans up well on the offensive glass and crashes the boards with maximum effort and usually outworks opponents in the paint.

Bassey also averaged an amazing 3.1 blocks per game  and can be an anchor in the middle while patrolling the paint making opponents think twice before driving the lane. His game is reminiscent of Amar’e Stoudemire’s as Bassey could develop into an all star caliber player and one day be among the league leaders in rebounds and blocked shots.
