Moves that Eastern Conference NBA playoff teams need to make to take a step forward next season.

In the last article, I went through the top five moves that raised their respective teams’ title ceilings. Now, with the NBA Finals officially over, the question becomes “What’s next?” for the teams that fell short.

There is only one champion every year and it is not in every teams’ best interest to keep retooling if they are too far behind from the pack or have reached their ceiling. Teams stuck in the middle of the standings – where they don’t get either benefit of a high draft pick or a true chance at a title – are arguably not much better off than a rebuilding squad.

For this reason, I won’t be covering the Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, and Charlotte Hornets in this article because both franchises are mired with uncertainty.

In this article, I will go through what each Eastern Conference playoff loser in can do to catch up to the NBA champion, Milwaukee Bucks.
