NBA: Moves that East playoff teams need to make to take a step forward
Brooklyn Nets: Get (even more) shooters
The Brooklyn Nets were undoubtedly the Bucks’ hardest playoff series this year and arguably would’ve come out on top when healthy. Regardless, injuries are part of the game and the Nets were still inches away from beating the eventual champions.
In that critical Game 7, sharpshooter Joe Harris missed a wide-open look at a 3 that would’ve put the game away. It was pretty indicative of how his series went, shooting 32.7 percent from 3 over all seven games and a more concerning 24.2 percent in the final five games.
Obviously, some of this is because the Bucks were able to stay home more on shooters without the threats of Irving and Harden, who both missed time. It does sting for the Nets to know that they were maybe one shot away from continuing on the path to the NBA Finals.
The Nets may not be able to afford him, but Reggie Bullock would be an incredible fit. He shot 41 percent from three last year and can play multiple positions on a nightly basis. The Nets can also dangle DeAndre Jordan’s $10 million contract with their three second-rounders in order to acquire a shooter with a bigger contract.
