2. Houston Rockets – Evan Mobley, F/C, USC

Even though there has been recent momentum around the narrative that the Houston Rockets could select Jalen Green with the second overall pick, I believe that is more smokescreen than it is gospel. When they go on the clock, I believe that the Rockets are going to pivot away from Green and select Evan Mobley.

The concerns about whether Mobley and Christian Wood will be great fits together are natural. However, if Mobley does end up being the generational talent that many believe he can be, the Rockets will never forgive themselves for not taking him.

The Rockets are in no place to overcomplicate things and simply need to take the best player available at No. 2. After Cunningham, that happens to be Mobley. He should be the pick and I believe he ultimately will.
