Dallas Mavericks: Figure out a plan for Kristaps Porzingis

The NBA Playoffs exposed the Dallas Mavericks’ biggest flaws. Turmoil in the front office combined with a poor supporting cast outside of star guard Luka Doncic does not bode well. Combining that with Tim Hardaway’s free agency, Dallas has a lot of work to do this offseason.

Re-signing Hardaway is a must unless you are able to get another capable scorer like DeMar DeRozan, or even Chris Paul. However, Dallas must address the bigs.

Kristaps Porzingis lost his touch in the playoffs, only averaging only 13.1 points in the Clippers’ series, a stark contrast from the 23.7 points per game he averaged last year. Dallas either needs to enhance his talent or trade for a better fit.

If Dallas decides to go with the latter, they may turn to Oklahoma City for Kemba Walker, or try to pry away Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson away from Miami. However, Porzingis’s value is at an all-time low after this year’s playoffs, so whether they want to move soon or what they could even get remains to be seen.

The Mavericks may be in a tough spot competing next year amid all of the turnover, but Luka Doncic is proving thus far that you always have a chance if he’s on the floor.
