The Cleveland Cavaliers are absolutely in an interesting spot regarding Jarrett Allen. The team recently acquired him as part of the James Harden deal. It may have been a fine print part of the deal, but Allen is a really good young big.

But after the Cavs were able to draft Evan Mobley in the 2021 NBA Draft, it could bring about questions as to whether or not the team should pursue re-signing Allen. Especially considering that he could be in for a hefty contract.

The Cavs can match any offer that Allen gets on the open market, which should help them in finding the right value for Allen regarding an extension. You’d have to believe that the Cavs would like to keep the asset and it would be surprising if Allen walked this summer.
