Heat Bring Back Robinson, Sign Tucker

Heat re-sign Duncan Robinson for 5 years/$90M

Grade: B+

Duncan Robinson’s value can’t be understated for this Heat team. His shooting prowess alone helps Miami space the floor, even with two non-shooters in Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo playing every night.

I believe other teams with cap space like the Knicks or Thunder would’ve paid more for his services if they were able to make an offer in restricted free agency, so getting a deal done the first day was advantageous.

Heat steal Tucker from Milwaukee for 2 years/$15M

Grade: A

Miami finally got someone who can play alongside Bam.

After being cheap last offseason and letting Jae Crowder walk, the Heat have learned from their mistakes and acquired Tucker. He provides much-needed shooting, defense, and toughness to the Heat roster, and can guard centers in the lineup next to Bam.

Stealing an impact player from the defending champions helps catch you up to them a little bit.
