Losers of the NBA offseason: Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers haven’t exactly done much to quantify as “losers” this offseason. It’s more of what they haven’t done that has found them in this category thus far. Entering the offseason, for the most part, the Sixers had one priority – trading Ben Simmons.

So far, they haven’t done that and, according to the reporting, don’t appear close. In fact, some of the reporting regarding their unbelievably high asking price indicates that the team is in no rush and that there’s a chance that they don’t trade him at all this offseason. That would be a problem. Especially considering what we’re hearing on the part of Simmons.

The way this offseason is shaping, if the Sixers are going to find a trade for Simmons it will likely have to come at a discounted rate of their reported asking price. Philadelphia may end up getting to the point where they’re simply trading Simmons just for the sake of trading him. And that won’t be good at all.
