Why the Golden State Warriors will be contenders in 2022: Andrew Wiggins has a defined role

One of the biggest encouraging signs from the Warriors this past season entailed a defined role for Andrew Wiggins. After the team acquired him, it was important that he find one that would help him revive his career in Golden State. From all indications, it seems like that transpired this past season.

In a defined role with Golden State, Wiggins shot career-high shooting percentages from the field and 3-point range and emerged as a consistent scoring threat next to Curry. If he can continue to be that consistent threat as Thompson gets back into the swing of things (coming off injury), the Warriors should be in a great spot.

While all the attention surrounding next season revolves around the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers, and Phoenix Suns; the Warriors will be able to quietly go about their business and reemerge as a contender next season. As long as this team is healthy, we shouldn’t expect otherwise.
