Why Russ will work with the Los Angeles Lakers: Doing all the little things

Westbrook has become known as the triple-double king and rightfully so, as he has surpassed Oscar Robertson’s records for both the most triple-doubles in a single season during his MVP 2016-17 season. This past year with the Wizards, Russ shot to the top of the rankings with the most TD’s in the history of the NBA.

During this time frame, some fans and pundits have questioned whether or not Westbrook has prioritized chasing arbitrary numbers over winning basketball games. However, Westbrook’s team performance speaks for itself when he logs triple-doubles.

For his career, Westbrook’s team record is 138-46 (110-28 with OKC, 23-15 with Washington, and 5-3 with Houston) when he records a triple-double.

There is no indication that these winning numbers will slow down once Westbrook starts running with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. In fact, they will likely continue propelling Westbrook further into the history books while helping LA climb to the No. 1 seed out West.
