NBA: Way-too-early individual award predictions for 2021-22
NBA’s Most Valuable Player – Luka Doncic
Jason Kidd isn’t the only one who’s going to reap the benefits of Luka Doncic’s play. Unless Joel Embiid’s Philadelphia 76ers finally get over the hump, there really isn’t anyone else who can challenge Luka for the league MVP award.
He already had the qualifications to win in the past two years individually speaking, but if he’s able to grab just a few more wins throughout this season, I don’t see why the NBA shouldn’t have its fourth international MVP in a row (which would be a great look for the league across the globe).
In 2021, Luka dropped 27, eight, and eight on 47 percent shooting from the field. If that’s not MVP ready I don’t know what is. Hopefully, Jason Kidd can help navigate the rest of the Mavs roster around Luka to help him become his most efficient form of himself.
At the end of the day, if Luka doesn’t win it won’t be on him; it’d be on Dallas.
