A way-too-early look at the 2021-22 NBA MVP award race.

Even though it’s way too early to predict who will win next season’s NBA MVP award, right now is the best time to place a bet on it because the odds won’t get much better than they are. For instance, on WynneBet, LeBron James is at +1100 to win the award. LeBron Freaking James!

James Harden, the guy who received some MVP buzz last season before he got injured, is at +2200. Chris Paul, who also received MVP buzz all of last season due to the Phoenix Suns’ massive improvement is currently at +10000.

Here’s a way too early breakdown of who I believe to be the favorites to win the 2021-22 NBA MVP award, along with some sleeper picks, starting with the favorite: Luka Doncic.

NBA MVP notable sleeper picks

Trae Young +1700

I doubt Trae Young will win the MVP next season, but he may be worth a flyer. After coming off an impressive playoff run in which he led the Atlanta Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals, Young may have finally morphed into a true superstar in this league.

If he can carry over the success he and the Hawks had in the playoffs to the upcoming season, the Hawks could find themselves near the top of the Eastern Conference. And if Young plays anywhere near he did in the playoffs, then he’ll certainly be in the MVP mix.
