Potential landing spots for Ben Simmons: Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves are another team that has been linked to Simmons recently and one that would be an interesting fit. A duo of Simmons and Karl-Anthony Towns would be quite interesting even though they’d be two of the most disrespected star duos in the league.
But perhaps that chip on their shoulder could be enough to spark a new fire in both of these players and, in the process, give a much-needed new start to the Wolves franchise. The big problem with the Wolves is the lack of appealing trade assets. And that could prevent this deal from happening.
The Wolves are not trading Anthony Edwards or Towns. After that, other than possible draft pick compensation, it’s slim pickings for what could be of interest for the Sixers. Philadelphia may be interested in D’Angelo Russell, but he’s not a prime trade piece.
A third team would have to be involved but that seems like it could be increasingly complicated to pull off. Maybe that’s why a deal hasn’t be made yet?
