Ben Simmons Trade Rumors: Ben Simmons needs the Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are an ideal landing spot for Ben Simmons.
As the start of NBA training camps quickly approach, the market for Ben Simmons will likely begin to heat up over the next few weeks – or, at least, that should be the expectation. Though, there’s no evidence to suggest that the Philadelphia 76ers are in any rush to make a trade.
That said, especially with everything that has been reported as of late, it would be somewhat surprising if the Sixers‘ season started (or even opened training camp) with Simmons on the roster.
The onus now falls on the Sixers.

It’s probably in the best interest of the team to try and find a deal before training camp to avoid what could end up being a huge distraction and it’s probably best for them to move on if this is where this story is heading – and there’s nothing that has been reported that would suggest otherwise.
And there’s one team out there that has reported interest in the past that would make a lot of sense for Simmons – a Golden State Warriors team that with a core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, could be one talented, versatile player away from true contention.
Why Ben Simmons needs the Warriors
Simmons needs the Warriors, probably more than the Warriors need him. Though, the relationship between the two would be beneficial for one another. That said, if Simmons truly wants to repair the narrative that surrounds him at this point in his career, the Warriors would be the perfect landing spot.
The Warriors are ready to jump back into contention in the Western Conference. At least on paper, especially depending on how Klay Thompson looks in his return, the Warriors appear to be one or two players short.
Golden State has all the pieces in place to win a championship. They have great shooting, a strong defensive philosophy, a proven coach, and a legit superstar. What their missing could be found in Simmons.
Simmons could fill that void and emerge as somewhat of a “savior” for the team. If adding Simmons means that the Warriors would reemerge as a contender in the West, it would absolutely help change his reputation around the league.
The big question for the Warriors is whether or not they believe Simmons to be that player? Do they believe that Simmons is going to come in with the right work ethic and want to change the way he approaches the game? Is he willing to play off Curry, Thompson, and the other stars? Is he willing to fit in?
These are all fair questions to ask about Simmons, especially with the way he’s handled himself through the first few seasons of his career.
Either way, if Simmons is truly interested in jumpstarting his career on the highest level, there’s a strong argument to be made that it needs to be with the Warriors.
