Heading into the 2021-22 NBA season, there aren’t many teams with loftier expectations than the Los Angeles Lakers. After the moves that they made this offseason, it’s championship or bust, once again, for a team led by LeBron James.

However, especially at this point in his career, it’s no longer LeBron or bust. If the Lakers are going to win a championship this season, it’s going to take much more than just a strong LeBron season. As we’ve seen in the past, especially in the super team era, it takes a team effort to win a championship.

With big expectations ahead of them, before the start of training camp, we explore which Lakers are the most important to the team heading into the season. In preparation for the season, we rank the Lakers’ roster in terms of importance to overall team success. For the sake of not knowing what their final roster will be, we’ll rank the top 10.
