8. Malik Monk

Malik Monk was one of the most interesting acquisitions of the offseason and kudos for the Lakers for realizing that they needed some youth on the roster. Monk is still somewhat of a mystery but is coming off the best statistical season of his young career.

Last season in Charlotte, Monk averaged 12 points per game on 40 percent shooting from 3-point range. If he can give the Lakers just a consistent 3-point threat off the bench, that’s all they need from him this season. And the signing will be looked back as a success.

The good thing for Monk is that playing next to LeBron and Anthony Davis should be much easier than playing next to LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier. Monk will have every opportunity to have a successful season and he could grow into an important player for the Lakers off the bench.
