Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

In each of his four seasons in the league, Jayson Tatum has vastly improved each year and has shown flashes of greatness and potential of what he can ultimately become. Already having played in two Eastern Conference Finals, Tatum has valuable playoff experience that should only fuel his hunger to continue leading the Boston Celtics in pursuit of that coveted 18th championship.

Tatum is battle-tested and has proven that he can handle the pressure of performing in the big games. All he needs is the supporting cast around him in order for the Celtics to get to the Finals. The Celtics also have another great foundational piece in fellow all-star Jaylen Brown who complements Tatum’s game perfectly forming one of the best duos in the league but Brown’s absence in the postseason due to a wrist injury left Tatum having to carry the load against a stacked Brooklyn Nets squad.

Even with a healthy Brown, the Celtics must focus on adding players who can defend the paint and rebound and also continue to develop younger players who can contribute like Romeo Langford, Aaron Nesmith, Grant Williams, and Payton Pritchard in order to protect leads whenever Tatum and Brown go to the bench.

The Celtics must also find a viable option at point guard; one who can run the offense and find ways to get Tatum the ball while putting him in a position to score. But Tatum isn’t just an elite-level scorer. He is a top 25 rebounder and even though he is still developing as a passer, he still dished out 4.3 assists as his assists totals continue to increase each year.

Tatum has already tied the legendary Larry Bird for most points in a game by a Celtic when he dropped 60 in a game last year against the San Antonio Spurs. Tatum also has the most games with 50-plus points in a season with two last season. Also lets not forget how special he is on the defensive end. If all goes well, we can expect for the Celtics to raise a few more banners inside TD Garden and Tatum taking home multiple Finals MVPs.
