Phoenix Suns storylines: Who will emerge as a consistent No. 3?

For the Suns, they have a clear No. 1 and 2 in Devin Booker and Chris Paul. Where the questions begin for this team is after Booker and Paul. And last season, especially in the playoffs, Deandre Ayton did a great job of solidifying the No. 3 spot for the team.

In part, that’s one of the biggest reasons why the Suns were able to make it all the way to the NBA Finals. The big concern is whether he’ll be able to continue his rise into his fourth season in the league. If the Suns are going to be a real contender in the West, they’ll need him to.

Ayton is one of the most underrated big men in the league today. He’s supremely athletic, great around the rim, and has continued to grow as a defender. He’ll need to continue to make strides in his game if he’s going to be considered a legit No. 3, and potentially a No. 2, on this roster.
