There has been smoke around a possible trade of Ben Simmons to the Minnesota Timberwolves but recent reports have suggested that perhaps they aren’t that interested. Or that they don’t want to go all-in on an offer for the all-star.

Maybe that will change over the course of the next couple of weeks but, either way, there is a fair trade to be had for both sides if they really want to make a deal done. It revolves around the Wolves sending a package centered around D’Angelo Russell and a boatload of first-round picks.

If the Wolves want Simmons and they don’t want to part ways with one of their top young players, it will likely cost a lot of draft compensation. However, for a player as good as Simmons is, considering the talent that the Wolves currently have on its roster, it might be worth it in the long run.
