8. Dallas Mavericks

Similar to Atlanta, Dallas has found a generational player to build a decent supporting cast around that has the capability to make a deep postseason run if all the pieces fall into place. Luka Doncic, entering what is to be just his fourth season in the league, is one of the best players in the entire NBA.

Coming off an All-NBA season averaging 27, 8, and 8, Luka is poised to be a formidable MVP candidate that can hold his own against any force in the league, with the proper backing in his team’s depth. The Dallas Mavericks struggle in finding Doncic the proper help he needs. His fellow starters are solid and can provide extra help on offense if needed, but Luka is the real make or break for this team and can put the whole roster on his back if he needs to.

With every season he only gets better, so a deep playoff run from the 22-year-old Slovenian native wouldn’t be anything remotely surprising.
