The New York Knicks’ bench unit impressed

Arguably the most exciting part of the team’s preseason-opening win was the bench unit. Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin both came out aggressive and attacked the rim constantly. Sixth man of the year finalist Derrick Rose and Alec Burks both added timely buckets dropping eight points apiece.

This unit was a major reason for success last season. The chemistry was evident and even more in sync between them.

Toppin in particular looked much more confident with the ball in his hands, often making quick decisions. Something he lacked the ability to do last year. Quickley ran the offense and continued to show improvement in his ability to lead the offense and break down the defense with his dribble.

If these two second-year players can be more consistent and play as they did in the preseason opener, you can expect the wins to follow.
