Season-opening positives for the New York Knicks: Evan Fournier comes through

After the Knicks signed Evan Fournier, many were quick to question their offseason plans. However, at least through one game, it seems like New York was smart in making that decision. Not only was Fournier good for the team, but they don’t win the game without his huge contributions.

Fournier finished with 32 points, six rebounds, four steals, and three assists on 52 percent shooting from the field and 46 percent shooting from 3-point range. He was also a team-best plus-11 overall on the night.

When the Knicks needed a scoring punch, they turned to Fournier and he came through. He gives this team an added scoring threat that they simply didn’t have a season ago – one that they desperately needed in the postseason against the Atlanta Hawks.
