Sporting an impressive 4-0 start the NBA regular season, are the Chicago Bulls the best-looking team until further notice?

The Chicago Bulls are a good way removed from their last stint of true relevance. However, the squad that they have this year just might make the change that the once-great franchise has been craving.

The NBA regular season has just recently begun, so there is only so much to go off of when gauging a team’s worth for the long haul. But that doesn’t mean that respect can’t be given when it’s due.

Chicago has played a whopping four games so far, but they have already managed to make an impact with their noteworthy performance in the process. Not only are they the sole unbeaten team remaining in the Eastern Conference, but they have looked the part while earning such a title as well.

In their first four games, the Bulls have faced Detroit, New Orleans, Detroit again, and Toronto, respectively.

Considering the talent on those three teams, alongside the fact that Chicago has beaten two of them by double-digits, shows that they have no intention of messing around. If an Eastern power wants to make a run, they’re going to have to get through the Bulls first; and it’s good to give those vibes off right away.

The thing that deserves the most credit for this early success has to be the new and improved roster. The Bulls made some serious offseason moves, and they’re certainly paying off thus far.

Following the conclusion of the 2020-21 NBA season, Chicago got their hands on both Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan through sign-and-trade deals. Each one is capable of making a serious change in the offensive regime.

Combining them with the likes of Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic (the latter of which was obtained by the Bulls back in March) makes Chicago one of the deepest teams in the Eastern Conference right off the bat. And that’s not just baseless speculation.

Already this season, those four names have each scored double-digits in every game they’ve played. Also, there have been two double-doubles from Vucevic, and even a triple-double from Ball. That’s some dangerous gameplay.

With their own roster oozing star power, along with some in-conference threats having some issues early, it’s looking like the unbeaten Bulls are the team to beat in the East until either someone else steps up, or they step down.
