Super second unit

During the 2018-19 campaign, Lou Williams won Sixth Man of the year and he became the oldest player to ever win the award at the age of 32. Westbrook is currently 33, if he were to accept and embrace a bench role he could become the third player in NBA history to win both an MVP and Sixth Man of the Year, joining Bill Walton and his former teammate James Harden.

Westbrook on the second unit would create a super bench unit for the Lakers. He’d be able to focus on scoring and feast on the opposing team’s second units. It would automatically give the Lakers an element that they currently don’t have at the moment.

At this point in his career, Westbrook could fade into the twilight of his career, or he could revitalize it by coming off the bench. The choice is his, but he and the Lakers’ season is on the clock.
