9. Dallas Mavericks

An argument can be made that the Dallas Mavericks didn’t do what was necessary this past offseason to surround Luka Doncic with the necessary players to help this team take the next step in their progression.

However, despite that, this team has gotten off to a fairly good start to the year. Considering all the other Western Conference contenders that have gotten off to shaky starts, the Mavs aren’t in a terrible position heading into the thick of the season.

Health is always a factor for the team and they’re going to need Kristaps Porzingis to step up as a true No. 2 at some point this season. But you have to like where the Mavs are at the moment.
