8. Chris Paul – Phoenix Suns

Even though the Milwaukee Bucks deserved to win the 2021 NBA Finals, I wanted the Phoenix Suns to win, purely because I wanted Chris Paul to win a ring. For all the effort he’s put into his career and for all he’s done for the NBA, CP3 deserves a title in my eyes. Maybe that could be this year with how well he has Phoenix playing.

As things stand Phoenix is 10-3 and 2nd in the Western Conference. They’re playing the same stellar basketball they were last year and Paul is their biggest reason why. Paul may only be the Sun’s 4th leading scorer (14.1 PPG) but he’s leading the league in assists per game at 11.0. If he manages to retain this position, it will be the 5th time he’s done so which is incredibly impressive.

The Suns are a very young team, with their 3 top scorers all 25 years or under. They need veteran leadership, something that doesn’t show in a box score. Paul is providing that leadership once again and reminding everyone that he is one of the greatest point guards of all-time.
