Los Angeles Lakers: 4 reasons why the Lakers are a bad team right now
Why the Los Angeles Lakers have struggled this season: Age
The Lakers are really, REALLY old.
They are by far the oldest team in the league. At the start of this season, their roster had an average age of 30.0 years, 1.9 years older than the 2nd team on the list. LeBron is 36 and will be 37 in December, Carmelo Anthony is 37, Dwight Howard will be 36 very soon, and Russell Westbtook just turned 33.
NBA players usually reach their prime in the late 20s, when they’ve acquired a decent amount of NBA experience and their athletic ability is at its peak. Young NBA teams often see significant improvements in their players as the season progresses, but it’s the opposite for old teams. Each day the Lakers are becoming less and less athletic as the players on their roster grow weaker and weaker.
Father Time is and always will be, undefeated.
