The window for Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert is closing

In a vacuum, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are two of the best players at their position and are relatively young. The expectation is that they should be a formidable duo for a very long time. However, in the NBA, by the time a team realizes that a window has closed for two stars, it’s generally too late.

I’m not saying that the window has closed for Mitchell or Gobert or that it’s even close to closing; just that the Jazz need to be aware of the current situation around the league and know that there might not be many wide-open opportunities in the Western Conference for long.

The Jazz is considered a contender because of the duo of Mitchell and Gobert. Although, there will come a time when that duo is not considered good enough to win a title. Is the Jazz there right now? Unlikely, but they could arrive at that moment soon.
