NBA Power Rankings: Ranking each division through one month
By Austin Lloyd
Almost a quarter of the NBA regular season is done, and some divisions have already stood out over some others. How good/bad has each one looked so far?
Every season in the NBA, some teams have that “it” factor, and some others don’t. When you get several of one category in the same division, you’re in for some pretty contrasting appearances. Here are the power rankings for the 2021-22 NBA season so far.
6. Southwest (W)
There hasn’t been much of a race for last place thus far, as the Southwest division has looked nothing short of terrible over the course of the regular season’s first quarter of games.
The division is home to only one team that currently holds a double-digit number in its win column (the Dallas Mavericks, with a record of 10-7). For reference, every other division has either two or four.
Not only that, but there are five squads who are yet to hit the 5-win threshold this season, and the Southwest possesses three of them. One of those three just so happens to be the 2-16 Houston Rockets–who are officially the worst team in the entire league today.
