7. D’Angelo Russell – Minnesota Timberwolves

I really thought D’Angelo Russell was going to become an All-Star again this season. After an OK 1st year with the Timberwolves, I was sure he would build on that and develop a solid partnership with Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards.

So far this hasn’t been the case.

Russell is averaging 19.3 PPG and 5.8 APG on only 40.1 FG% and 34.2 3P%. The annoying thing is that if Russell improves just a little bit on offense, Minnesota would become a good basketball team.

Currently, the Timberwolves have the 12th best opposing team FG% (43.7%), and the 3rd best opposing team 3P% (31.9%). It’s their offense that is letting them down, and since Russell is the main ball-handler, he is in charge of making things work for his team.
