NBA MVP 2.0: Kevin Durant is closing in on No. 1 as he carries the Nets
By Nick Andre
4. Devin Booker
After a red-hot start to the season, which included a 17-game winning streak, Devin Booker has been the X-Factor in their success. His experience coming off of last year’s playoffs has played a huge role in coming into this year with a chip on his shoulder. Booker is motivated and ready for more success. While many praise both Curry and Durant for the offensive clinics they’ve both displayed this year. Booker’s name should be in the conversation as one of the best offensive players this season.
Booker is averaging 23.2 points per game on 45 percent shooting from the field. Although Chris Paul is known as the maestro that initiates the offense, Booker’s scoring can set the tone for the Suns. Booker has continued to have several scoring performances that include five 30-plus point games. He’s been in attack mode at the beginning of the year and hasn’t looked back.
With Booker being sidelined due to a hamstring injury, the question is how can the Suns sustain their terrific season going forward. Although Phoenix was able to get by Golden State and Detroit in their previous few games, things could potentially turn left without the presence of their leading scorer. Booker’s importance to this team is major and they can’t wait until he is healthy again.
