NBA non-contending teams in the most enviable positions.
I’ve longer advocated that teams without superstars exit the treadmill of mediocrity, blow it up and rebuild with the goal of being a serious playoff team in three or so years. Some teams refuse to do that, and thus secure a future as dull as their present.
Others, like the Golden State Warriors, are already contenders, AND flush with young players who can theoretically improve as quickly as Steph Curry and Draymond Green decline (if they ever do) with age.
But most of the league can’t have its cake and eat it too. Here are the teams outside of certified contender status with the best avenues for future success.
