NBA overreactions: Golden State Warriors vs. Brooklyn Nets = 2022 NBA Finals
This next one really isn’t an overreaction. For most basketball fans, including myself, this is the dream scenario for the 2022 NBA Finals.
The Kevin Durant led the Brooklyn Nets going up against his former team would be quite the spectacle. Who wouldn’t want to see that? Especially considering how jazzed up Draymond Green and company would be going up against their former teammate.
As of today, the Nets are in first place in the Eastern Conference and the Warriors are in first place in the Western Conference. The Warriors and Nets have been two of the best three teams in the league this season and a Finals matchup between the two seems very likely.
Plus, if you subscribe to the notion that the NBA manipulates playoff outcomes to generate the matchups that would produce the highest television ratings, then you’re in luck because this is the matchup they would do it for.
Think about it, from a media stand-point, a Warriors vs. Nets Finals matchup would, without question, garner the greatest interest out of any possible Finals matchup. All the storylines this matchup would generate would be endless and provide for such an entertaining Finals, even if it ended in a four-game sweep.
