NBA Rumors: There’s optimism growing around Kyrie Irving’s potential return to the Brooklyn Nets at some point this season.

Kyrie Irving has not yet played a game for the Brooklyn Nets this season but there is growing optimism about a potential return at some point this campaign. How a return will look remains a mystery. However, it’s good news that there’s at least some optimism regarding his potential return to the Nets.

Even though an argument can be made that the Nets have been perfectly fine without Kyrie in the lineup so far this season, I’m not sure that’s entirely truthful. In fact, the presence – or lack of one – of Kyrie in the Nets’ lineup is what makes this team special.

Without him, they’re a strong contender that could be knocked off in a postseason series. With him, assuming the big three is healthy, and the Nets are that overwhelming contender in the East that many predicted they would be before the season.

If Kyrie eventually makes his return back to the Nets at some point this season and he’s in good basketball shape and healthy, it could change the entire landscape of the Eastern Conference.

Over the last few months, Kyrie has somewhat become a joke around casual fans but no matter what he may believe in or not believe in, he’s still an incredibly gifted basketball player and one of the best point guards in the league.

When he’s healthy and engaged, there aren’t many better finishers around the basketball or ball-handlers. His return would absolutely have some major repercussions around the league. And if the Nets have a close-to-top 10 offense without Kyrie in the lineup, you can only imagine how much better this team will automatically get on that end of the floor.

The Nets don’t necessarily need Kyrie to return to be a true contender in the East, but he could make quite the impact and difference in the postseason.
