Looking back at five classic jerseys in honor of the NBA’s second annual jersey day.

Following the success of the first NBA jersey day in 2020, the NBA has brought the national day back for a second-consecutive year. The day is meant to celebrate any and all NBA jerseys from past and current players.

If you will not be wearing a current player’s jersey to celebrate, here are five throwback looks to help you celebrate the occasion.

No. 5: Denver Nuggets Rainbow Dikembe Mutombo Jersey

This is an all-time classic jersey. The color combination with traditional Nuggets royal blue and bright yellow coupled with the rainbow backdrop is pure perfection. As for the player, you’ll be rocking Mutombo is a Hall of Famer, and second all-time in blocked shots at 3289. Trailing only Hakeem Olajuwon who has 3830 career blocks.

The current retail price of this jersey is $129.99 it can be purchased at Lids.com

No. 4: San Antonio Spurs Pink and Turquoise Tim Duncan Jersey

The pink and the turquoise color scheme that the San Antonio Spurs used in these jerseys is one of the most unique color combos in NBA history. On this list, unique earns you a spot in the top five.

Duncan needs no introduction, the Big Fundamental is a five-time NBA champ, Hall of Famer, and one of, if not the best power forward of all time. This gem currently retails for $130.00 even and can be purchased at ChampsSports.com

No. 3: Utah Jazz Purple John Stockton Jersey

Purple is one of the most underrated colors in the NBA, few teams currently utilize the pigment in their team colors. The Utah Jazz was one of the best at using the color purple. This John Stockton jersey is just one of Utah’s examples of using purple.

This jersey also currently retails for $130.00 even and is available at DicksSportingGoods.com

No. 2: Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant No. Jersey

It was tough deciding whether to include Kobe’s No. eight or 24 jersey, ultimately I sided with his number eight because it felt more like a true throwback given he came into the league with number eight. There are few jersey’s more classic than the Lakers purple and gold unis.

This number eight Kobe Jersey is the most expensive on the list and will set you back about $300

No. 1: Toronto Raptors Vince Carter Purple dinosaur jersey

This could be the most iconic jersey in NBA history, the level of perfection these Raptors jerseys with the big red dinosaur were is difficult to put into words. To say it is a shame they no longer don these beauties is a severe understatement.

If you want to own a little slice of history, you can purchase the hardwood classic at Fanatics or NBAstore.com for only $139.99
