NBA Trade Rumors: The Sacramento Kings are looking to package Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley.
At 11-17, it’s no surprise that patience is wearing thin for the Sacramento Kings. They fired head coach Luke Walton nearly a month ago and the team wants to take steps forward and not back.
In the meantime, as this current roster construction continues to struggle, perhaps that might have to come via trade. And the Kings have two players that they are reportedly shopping at the moment: Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley.
In fact, it’s the worst-kept secret in the league that the Kings would be open to trading both Hield and Bagley. The expectation is that at the very least Bagley will be moved at the trade deadline. Though, if the Kings had it their way, they’d package the two together to add a player that could help this team moving forward.
"[via Sacramento Bee]One source said the Kings are still shopping a package including Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III in hopes of getting a good player in return."
Of course, there are many elements to this. For one, what do the Kings define as a “good player?” And second, how much of a priority do the Kings have in making a deal?
On the surface, you’d expect there to be a somewhat decent trade market for both Bagley and Hield. There are many teams that would be interested in a reclamation project as talented as Bagley and Hield has been one of the best outside shooters over the past few seasons.
The Kings are generally a team that emerges as sellers at the NBA Trade Deadline. Though, with as much talent as this team has on its roster, it’s clear that, at least at this point, this team is looking to make improvements.
And you’d have to wonder if the Kings would be willing to trade Hield and/or Bagley for pennies on the dollar.
