Breaking down who the best team currently is in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.

With the Eastern Conference looking a lot stronger than in past years, who is really the team to beat in the East right now? We take a look at four teams that all make a good case for the best team in the conference.

Milwaukee Bucks

It should be no surprise that the reigning champs are in the conversation. Still without Donte DiVincenzo, the Milwaukee Bucks got off to a rough start to the season. After beginning their 2021-22 campaign at 6-8, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have been on a tear and are now up to 18-11, just two games behind first place.

Injuries have held the Bucks down, but with DiVincenzo returning to the lineup this week and Jrue Holiday getting back into form. With this winning streak, Milwaukee is looking like they will be back in the competition for another championship run.

Of course, Brook Lopez hasn’t played since opening night and now the center is out indefinitely per NBA.com, so the Bucks take a hit there, but right now, the Bucks are the second-best team in the East.

Verdict: Second-best team in the East
