The All-Star game is meant to be just a friendly game. If the score gets close towards the end of the 4th quarter it gets competitive, but most of the time is spent paying homage to the talent and skill that the best players in the NBA possess.

The NBA is about entertaining people, so players that are fun to watch have a much higher chance of All-Star slots than those that are boring. LaMelo Ball is a very entertaining player to watch. He has an excellent handle, shoots the ball well and loves to add a bit of flair to his play when available.

He’s also averaging 20.0 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 8.3 APG and 1.9 SPG and the Hornets are 15-14, plus Ball has been a big social media presence since the rise of his brothers and father a few years ago. People know who he is, even if they don’t follow basketball that closely.
