NBA Trade Rumors: The trade market for Kemba Walker is reportedly non-existent.

Just a few weeks ago, the New York Knicks elected to remove Kemba Walker from the starting lineup and the rotation altogether. It was then reported that the team was going to explore a trade for the former all-star.

However, according to a recent report, the trade market for Kemba is quite bare. In fact, interest league-wide is non-existent.

And that’ll leave the Knicks with another decision to make regarding Kemba. What to do with him next? If there’s no trade on the horizon, I’m not sure how much longer the Knicks can simply carry a player as talented as Kemba without backlash.

Especially as the team continues to struggle. Since their 5-1 start to the season, the Knicks are 8-16. Quite frankly, over the last 24 games, the Knicks are one of the worst teams in the league and are far from that playoff contender in the Eastern Conference.

Even though Kemba is far from the biggest problem on the Knicks, it’s certainly one part of their recent narrative that has been in the limelight of late.

New York took a chance on Kemba and it’s clear that it didn’t work out. Now, it’s time to pivot. What that pivot will entail is nearly impossible to predict.

It remains to be seen if this report, assuming is accurate, will prompt Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau to reinsert Kemba back into the rotation. Despite his faults and struggles on the defensive end, Kemba is still a player that can light up the scoreboard and has actually been a pretty efficient offensive player this season.

If the Knicks are hoping to trade Kemba, it has become clear that it either won’t come until closer to the NBA Trade Deadline or perhaps won’t come without the Knicks having to attach him with an asset.
