Portland Trail Blazers: Something. Please.
God, this team depresses me. They found their ceiling long ago and have refused to change the roster in any real way. They fired Neil Olshey five years too late. They botched the coaching hire. 13-22. 14th in the West.
Don’t want to trade Dame and start over? Fine. But something needs to happen. Package your other guys and remake the roster like Washington did this offseason. Do SOMETHING. That’s my hope for the Blazers.
Sacramento Kings: An offseason to go right
The Sacramento Kings make me super sad too, for the record. Every offseason for the Kings has been the same in recent years. Keep your terrible coach or fire one to hire another. Use your annual lottery pick on an underrated shooting guard. Keep the core together if not find overpaid veterans. It’s almost like they’re stuck in NBA Purgatory except they’ve had tons of lotto picks. Just whiffed on some of the key ones.
They need this upcoming offseason to go right. Yeah, they’ve only played 37 games. Don’t really care. We’ve seen this team enough to know what they are. And they ain’t playoff material. But they do have serious pieces! De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton are a powerhouse backcourt in the making.
Richaun Holmes is underrated AND underpaid. Hire the right coach this time around. Trade some of your shooting guards (Buddy Hield especially) and add some more cohesive talent to the roster. I’m hoping for SOMETHING to go right for this team this offseason.
