Houston Rockets: Trades for veterans
I naturally catch a lot of Houston Rockets games these days. As far as teams with little concern for winning go, they’re a fun watch. But, MAN, can we get these vets out of Houston?
I’m sure Eric Gordon and Daniel Theis would much rather be on playoff teams right now, if not contenders. Waiving Danuel House was a good start. Can we please just give all the minutes to the young guys? You’re 10-26, last in the West. Losing more games is not hurting you at this point.
As much as I’m hoping for the trades, I need some more minutes for Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., KJ Martin, Usman Garuba, and Alperen Sengun STAT.
Indiana Pacers: Orlando remake
The Indiana Pacers did something that wasn’t unbelievably boring! A very solid roster filled with very solid players but no superstars found its ceiling very quickly, what a shocker. Early reports are that they’re looking to strip it down. Caris LeVert, Domantas Sabonis, and Myles Turner have all been floated as potential trades.
The Pacers’ hope should be that their strip-down goes as well as the Magic’s did last season. They shipped Aaron Gordon, Vooch, and Evan Fournier out to teams for young players and picks. And the picks have hit. The Pacers should be looking to trade their proven talent into blue-chip prospects or picks. Hopefully, it’s exciting.
