NBA Trade Rumors: The Atlanta Hawks are likely to trade Cam Reddish at the trade deadline.

Even though the Atlanta Hawks have been one of the more disappointing teams in the Eastern Conference, there’s still hope that this team can make a move up the standings during the second half of the season.

Though, if that were to happen, you’d have to assume that it will likely take a move at the trade deadline to jumpstart a run. The Hawks are currently 17-21 and are 12th in the East standings, 2.5  games back of the 8th seed.

Atlanta doesn’t have a ton of room to make up, but a move could help accelerate their run up the standings. One potential trade piece on the roster is Cam Reddish.

And according to a recent report, it’s all but assumed that he’s going to be moved at some point before the deadline.

Specifically, in a recent podcast, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst mentioned that rival executives believe that the Hawks will likely trade Cam Reddish at the trade deadline.

This isn’t exactly huge news and, when you look at the facts, makes a ton of sense. For one, Reddish is due for a contract extension this offseason and there’s simply not enough money to go around considering who Atlanta has already paid and who they still have to pay.

Secondly, Reddish probably deserves a chance to start. He simply hasn’t been given that opportunity with the Hawks. He has the talent to start in the NBA and he could probably get that on another team.

Still, it’s going to be costly to land Reddish. That said, there will likely be plenty of teams lining up to land this type of talent at the trade deadline.
