NBA Trade Rumors: Teams are already expressing interest in Myles Turner.

The 2022 NBA Trade Deadline is exactly one month away and there are already teams scanning the market for potential upgrades as they prepare for the stretch run for the postseason. One player that is expected to garner plenty of interest on the open market over the next few weeks is Myles Turner.

And there are already teams that have reportedly registered interest in the all-star talent. According to a report (subscription required), the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, and Los Angeles Lakers have expressed interest in Turner.

It’s unknown what the Indiana Pacers would be looking for in a return for Turner, but the fact that there’s already plenty of interest in Turner should give a good indication that he will likely be moved at the deadline.

Turner is a really good player. He is probably not as commercialized as some other players at his level, but let’s not let that get in the way of his talent.

So far this season, Turner is averaging 13 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks per game on 52 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from 3-point range. There’s no question that he could help solidify a team’s frontcourt and could emerge as a third or fourth option on the offensive end.

Turner probably deserves a bigger role than he has with the Pacers and there are some better opportunities for him elsewhere (especially as the Pacers continue to struggle as a team), but he’ll need to be able to adapt quickly if he is indeed traded at the deadline.

Turner is an expiring contract after next season. He’s looking for a big extension and any team that acquires him will have to be willing to offer that. However, he might be worth it. Especially if he helps a playoff team get to the next level this season.
