NBA Trade Rumors: The New York Knicks are interested in Cam Reddish as the trade deadline approaches.
With the NBA Trade Deadline less than a month away, the New York Knicks have to make a big decision. Should they be sellers or buyers? It’s a tough decision to make and last year’s success hasn’t made their early-season struggles any easier.
The Knicks have some interesting players on its roster where if they chose to sell, there would be a market for several of their players. At the same rate, they could elect to add veteran talent to help push this team toward the playoffs.
There’s also another route the Knicks can take – look to add a young prospect to this team’s young core. One player that could be of interest to the Knicks is Cam Reddish.
"[via SNY]The Knicks are also among the teams who have had a degree of interest in Cam Reddish, per sources familiar with the Reddish dynamic in Atlanta. The Hawks, per various reports, will make — or are making – Reddish available via trade."
Sometimes you have to take a bit of a step back to take a big step forward. The Knicks were ahead of the curve last season when they finished as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference standings.
Even though they have had bright moments at different points this season, this is not a roster that has a championship ceiling. If the Knicks are ready to admit that, maybe it’s time to make a major move at the trade deadline.
Perhaps selling on this season to add another talented young prospect would go a long way in ultimately raising the ceiling for this franchise in, say, 2-3 years down the line. Maybe that’s exactly what the Knicks need to do heading into the NBA Trade Deadline.
