Handing out individual awards at the midway point of the 2021-22 NBA season.

The 2021-22 NBA season has been an exciting one, to say the least. It has had its ups and downs as teams were hit with severe health and safety protocols over the last month. But one thing that doesn’t need to be overlooked is the production that many teams and players have brought.

Many players have elevated their play and deserve their own individual award for standing out. With that being said, let’s dive into our NBA mid-season awards.

NBA Coach of the Year: Taylor Jenkins, Memphis Grizzlies

It may be too early to give the award to coach Taylor Jenkins the award, especially considering what a fantastic job Billy Donovan has done in Chicago. But the Memphis Grizzlies have elevated themselves as a top contender in the Western Conference. While Ja Morant has been an MVP Candidate for most of the year, the Grizzlies have had a great supporting cast who have done their job on both ends of the floor.

It all began once Jaren Jackson Jr was fully healthy to be in the starting lineup this season. He has been a tremendous factor on both ends and Coach Jenkins has placed him in. Other players in Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams, Desmond Bane, and others have been great contributors under Jenkins.

While the Grizzlies have won 11 of their last 12 games, the team has been one of the top three defensive teams with a rating of 108 while being top five on offense. The motto Grit ‘N Grind continues to stick with this franchise and it shows on the floor each night. If the team continues this miraculous season, coach Jenkins will secure the award at the end of the season.
